There was a terrific battle at the front as the elite runners battled to take the Billy Peppard Cup. On the line Providence College scholarship student Richie Yeates edged out Gavin O'Sullivan with Kevin Moriarty in third spot.

Another scholarship student Daire Bermingham was the first junior - he was sixth overall. Susan Byrne won the Giblen Cup as the first female while Irish international Ellen Diskin was the first junior women. The first juvenile finisher was Chris Byrne.

Dara O'Kearney continued his great season winning the McLoughlin Cup for accurately predicting his correct time while the Fox Cup, awarded to the family who predict their correct combined time, went to the course specialists, Dick and Cait Hooper, who were winning the prize for a record third time.
