may 2007 DEVELOPMENT RACES ARE PROVING A HUGE SUCCESS, TWO ATHLETES BEAT THE QUALIFYING TIMES FOR EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPICS
Last Wednesdays nights 1500 Mtrs Development Races at wet and windy Morton Stadium proved a great success with sisters Charlotte French O Carroll and Rebecca French O Carroll both beating the qualifying time for the European Youth Olympics.
The races which drew a total of seventeen women and thirteen men drew athletes from various counties including Down, Cork, Louth, Waterford, Tipperary,Cavan and Westmeath, also saw five girls record Personal Bests while six men also ran faster than their previous bests.

THE SECOND RACE in the Development Race series takes place on Wednesday next May 16th at Morton Stadium.
To facilitate athletes seeking qualifying times for upcoming championships the races will be held over 1500 Mtrs instead of the 1 Mile races originally listed.
Race start times are Women 20.00. Men 20 10.
Prizes for both races 1st 100 Euros
` 2nd 70 Euros.
3rd 50 Euros

First Development race a great success
The initial race in the Development Race Series took place on Wednesday last April 25th at Irishtown Stadium and drew a field of twenty starters. First across the line was Rob Connolly of DSD in a time of 8Min 22.13 secs with Martin Conroy of Sligo 2nd 8 min 40.40 secs and John Eves of D S D in 3rd spot 8 min 41.87 secs.
From the twenty starters 10 Personal bests were recorded which is what the series is about to help athletes achieve their potential. To continue the good start the second race in the series takes place on Wednesday May 16th at Morton Stadium Santry [ NOTE CHANGE OF DATE.] with a 1Mile race for Women and a 1 Mile for Men

Top distance Coach Jim Davis in conjunction with the Dublin Athletics board graded meetings series , is organising a number of development races.
The first race is next Wednesday April 25th at Irishtown Stadium.
This development series which Jim first organized six years ago have produced one Irish Junior 3000 Mtrs record plus close on two hundred personal during the intervening years. In the pastthere was normally two races per season where this year there is a series of races as athletes have asked for more races of this type.
So to improve your running get along to these races.. details below
