Background: Cycling Ireland (CI) has a coaching opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to work within its coaching and sporting programmes. CI is looking to employ a Coaching Education Officer to work in facilitate the development of coaching courses. In the first instance this role is on a fixed term contract from January 2010 to January 2011. Subject to further funding the role will be reviewed and renewed on an annual basis through to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Coach Education Officer:
The Coach Education Officer will be principally responsible for the development and rollout of new coaching courses. These courses will be multiple disciplines including new mountain bike leaders/instructors course. The Coach Education Officer will also be responsible for monitoring the work of existing coaches and ensure a clear coaching pathway is in place for them. The Coach Education Officer will be required to work within the Coaching Ireland Framework to ensure new courses are certified by them.
