1000th Kick Start 1 Course delivered for FAI

Congratulations to the FAI Coach Education team who are the first sport in Ireland to have delivered 1000 courses for one Level. The Kick Start 1 Course FAIKS11000 was run in the University of Limerick in November. Great credit to all the FAI Technical team and Tutors in particular, who have been instrumental in designing, developing and delivering Coach Education courses for Soccer coaches.

FAI first became involved in the Coaching Development Programme for Ireland back in 1995 and the first Introductory course was approved on the 28-6-1996. Kick Start 1 and 2 are programmes developed in line with the soccer player pathway and are focused towards the development of coaches for young players

Since that time the FAI Technical Team led by Packie Bonner have delivered 7 Levels of coach education courses to assist in the development of the game in Ireland. From Kick Start 1 to Level 4 Pro licence. FAI CDPI courses are UEFA accreditated at the higher levels and are recognised world wide.

We congratulate the FAI Quality Assurance Team, Greig Paterson and Karl O’Shaughnessy on their achievement and for all the fantastic work they and the Development Officers do for soccer coaches but also soccer as a major Irish sport.

Congratulations from Catherine Bird, Quality Assurance Section, and all at Coaching Ireland
